Date update: 29/09/2025

Here is a brief update on the Vietnam rice market for this begin of October:

Raw rice price is stable, supply is low.

· Jasmine rice demand increase from Philippines for delivery end of October or November but no transaction due to Philippines’s import ban.

· The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF) has announced an international bidding to purchase 46,000 tonnes of rice, scheduled for delivery between November 1 and December 31, 2025. MAFF also announced that it will hold a bidding session to purchase 1.200 tons rice on 30 Sep 2025 within the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) include Vietnam.

· The Autumn-Winter crop begin harvested, but the quantity is not stable. We still source rice from Summer-Autumn crop for delivery.

· Price outlook: Fragrant rice, Jasmine rice increase; Japonica rice, Red/ Black and others rice price stable.
